Largest Lottery Prize in Sri Lanka Awarded: Rs. 629 Million Kapruka Jackpot

On February 19, 2026, Kapruka Lottery made history in Sri Lanka by producing the largest-ever lottery jackpot winner, awarding a massive prize of Rs. 629,855,919.60.

At this event, the cheque for this grand prize was presented to the winner. In addition, cheques were awarded to other major winners across various districts of the island, including multi-millionaire and million-rupee prize winners. Cheques and certificates were also presented to lottery sales agents in recognition of their contribution.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Honorable Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe. It was attended by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Development Lotteries Board, Attorney-at-Law Hemantha Swarnathilaka, Director Chanakya Liyanage, Director of the Lalith Athulathmudali Mahapola Scholarship Trust Fund D.R.C. Jayawardena, Chairman of the National Cooperative Wholesale Establishment Kosala Wilbawa, General Manager Anura Jayaratne, Deputy General Manager (Sales) Chanaka Dodangoda, Deputy General Manager (Finance) Kasun Jayasuriya, and other officials.

In summary, this was a landmark event in Sri Lanka’s lottery history, celebrating the largest jackpot winner while also recognizing other winners and lottery sales agents.
